Description | The project entails the development of a 105 MW solar farm located in Hermosillo municipality, Sonora state. There will be installation of about 400,000 solar panels on a 300-ha (741 acres) land plot in Hermosillo municipality. The project is initiated on a merchant basis by Iberdrola SA. The generated power will be sold to the private customers under the new Wholesale Electricity Market. The project is covered with long term PPAs with private customers. The construction of the plant commenced in August 2017 and thus considered financial closure data. As of December 2017, there are no financing details besides the estimated investment cost - $135 million.
