Description

Description

At Remicourt near Liège, the first certified safe and secure parking project comprising of up to 143 heavy goods vehicle parking spaces will be developed at the “Gold” level according to the EU-Parking Standard. The location is on the E40 near the intersection with the E42 on the TEN-T Core Network, namely the North Sea-Baltic and Rhine-Alpine Corridors. The parking area and the necessary access way will cover an area of 28.484 m² and will provide secure parking for heavy goods vehicles, particularly given the proximity of the Liège-Bierset airport and expected high-value transport (pharmaceutical and animal transport, among others). The project is therefore in line with the MOVE/C1/2017-500 study of the EU-Parking standard, and the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/1012, supplementing Regulation (EC) No 561/2006 on the new EU standards for SSTPA. The project will be implemented by the applicant, namely the company Hesbymazout, which is part of the Belgian group Uhoda S.A. and already operates a fuel station at the project location and will be supported by several public and private stakeholders, such as the region of Wallonia and the European Secure Parking Organisation (ESPORG). In addition to the parking area, the site will also include a fuel station, a shop and accommodation facilities, which remain outside of the project's proposal for funding but are part of the Global Project.
