Information DEPARTMENT OF HORTICULTURE GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA has come up with Hi Tech Horticulture Technology Park Siravar Tq Kanakagiri Dt Koppal State Karnataka with a ticket size of 104.63 INR Crores. This project in Horticulture sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Idea Stage and is being developed through the PPP route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The Hi-Tech Horticulture Technology Park Siravar will serve as a state of the art Centre for Demonstrating Israel based technologies on Irrigation, Crop Protection and Value chain to the farmers of Northern Dry Agro Climatic Zone of Karnataka and will have facilities from end to end. i.e., pre harvest stage, Demonstration blocks for production technology, Irrigation technology, Post Harvest Management, Primary and Secondary processing facilities, Allied activities, Horticulture Tourism cum Knowledge sharing Centre, Marketing and Logistics. The Pre Harvest includes: Hi-tech Nursery including Tissue culture lab, Vermi Compost Units, Bio fertiliser and Pesticides Units, Micro Irrigation technologies. The Demonstration blocks: High Density plantation fruits orchards, Bower system of plantation, Hydroponics for vegetables esp Leafy. Irrigation Technology: Drip Irrigation, Sprinkler & Micro Sprinkler, Foggers etc., by Developing farm ponds in HHTP along with Solar Pumps for Irrigation. Post Harvest Management: The facility includes Aggregation Centre, Sorting and Grading Line along with Washing facilities if required, Pack Houses, Dry and Cold Storages, Ripening Chambers etc., Primary and Secondary Processing facilities: As per the requirement of Horticulture crop the primary and secondary processing facilities are established like Aseptic processing lines, Solar Dehydration Units and Freeze Dehydration plants. Allied Activities: Hi-Tech Dairy Farm, Goat and Sheep rearing Farm, Mushroom Cultivation, Honey bee Keeping etc., Horticulture Knowledge Tourism Park: This will have a facility of Horticulture Museum, and Training Centre involving Training Centre, Hostel/Dormitory blocks, Guest House, Cafeteria etc., Marketing and Logistics: The Marketing and Logistics will also be included as the promoter will work for the area expansion of Horticulture crops to the Horticulture farmers either by contact or contract farming looking into the Demand and Supply and Market intelligency, future demand of the Horticulture produce. The private entrepreneur he can work as per his requirement by supplying nursery plants in the area, Area expansion, Crop protection, Guiding in production technology, Sorting and Grading of the crop looking into the Marketing requirement. The proposed HHTP will be under PPP model implemented either by a single developer or a Consortium of multiple developers. The implementation period is 3 years i.e., 2024-25 to 2026-27. The project is beneficial to the Horticulture farmers of the region consists of surrounding districts of Bellary, Vijayanagar, Gadag, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Raichur and Yadgir. The project capital outlay will be for 3 years on activity based. first year 35.92 Cr, Second year 23.03 Cr, Third year 28.85 Cr of the Total Capital Cost of Rs 87.83 Cr.
