Description | Hidropantasma S.A., a subsidiary of the Costa Rican group Saret and the Spanish company FCC, was awarded the 15-year contract to build and operate a 12.5-MW small hydro power plant located at Departament of Jinotega (Pantasma River). Electricity was set to be delivered to Disnorte and Dissue at a sale price of US$107.30/MWh. The project involved an investment of US$ 33 million. Financial closure was achieved in 2011, when CABEI approved a US$ 25.5 million to the project. Construction works commenced in June 2011 and were concluded in 2013. In December 2012, the sponsor applied for carbon credit. |
