Description | The Hiep Phuoc Power Company, a joint venture between the Central Trading and Development Corp. of Taiwan (70%) and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee (30%) are developing a 675-MW (425-MW + 250-MW) oil-fired plant. The project is located in the Tan Thuan export processing zone, 15 km from Ho Chi Minh City. The project involves the rehabilitation of the existing 675-MW plant, installation of transmission lines, and the development of a toll road. The Harbin Generating Factory of China is the equipment supplier. The project is being developed through a 50-year rehabilitate, operate, transfer (ROT) arrangment at an estimated project cost is $205. Financial closure was reached in early 1996 with the provision of $170.0 million from a syndicate of twelve Taiwanese banks led by the First Commercial Bank. The debt/equity ratio for this project is roughly 80:20. The toll road is a 17.8 km highway and bridge between Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone and Highway 1. None None |
