The project involves the development of a 1,000 km High-Frequency Rail (HFR) electrified tracks network in the Quebec City-Windsor corridor in Canada.The project aims to establish a comprehensive rail network connecting Toronto, Peterborough, Ottawa, Montreal, Trois-Rivières, and Quebec City. This initiative will bring improved transportation services to communities along the route and introduce new stations at strategic locations. It includes upgrading various aspects of the railway, such as rights-of-way, tracks, structures, stations, and rail systems. By separating passenger and freight rail operations, the HFR project will create additional capacity for sustainable transportation of both people and goods. The plan also involves repurposing discontinued and underutilized freight rail infrastructure to establish new routes.
