Description

Description

"""High Road"" is a 24-months long Volunteering Teams in High Priority Areas project whose activities will be held in 18 different towns in Sicily for 59 days. The total amount of participants to the activities is 44 coming from 7 different countries (Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Greece, Poland and Bulgaria). At least 20 volunteers will be responding to a fewer opportunities profile. The project is structured as an itinerant action that will comprehend territories from 5 Sicilian former provinces: Agrigento, Caltanissetta, Catania, Trapani and Palermo. The aim of the project is to raise awareness about health prevention and healthy and positive lifestyles, using the tools of Non-Formal Education, in peripheral areas of Europe. Other specific aims of the project are: - Raising awareness about European programmes for Youth and Volunteering; - Raising awareness about the importance of preventing diseases instead of treating them; - Creating actions of community development; - Generating social inclusion through the experience of the volunteers as role models for their peers. The aim will be reached through the following tools: - Campaigns organised by the volunteers and based on the needs of each local community; - Training of the volunteers on team work, task-oriented and task-related actions; - Awareness activities on field; - Meetings with Institutions and Policy Makers. At the end of the project experience, two final products will be delivered: - “High Road Trip” will be a collection of audiovisual materials produced by the volunteers during the activities on field; - “High Road Map” will be a map of the needs of the territories in which activities will take part that have been recognised during the implementation of the activities."
