Highland Manor - Facility Upgrades

The facility upgrades consist of three components: 1) Replacement of the existing call bell system ; 2) Installation of six heat pumps throughout the facility; and 3) Upgrades to the kitchen that will include: replacing the grease trap; adding a ventilation fan, vinyl wall coverings, and roll down shutters to between the dining room and kitchen. Rationale: 1) the existing system is it is outdated and cannot be upgraded. The new system will use Bluetooth technology which will provide coverage throughout the facility and a safer environment for residents; 2) the new system will ensure climate control and comfort for the residents; and 3) kitchen upgrades will ensure better hygiene: the 36 year old grease trap has come to the end of its useful life; the fan (fixed to the ceiling) will provide better air flow; the vinyl wall coverings will sanitation as are much easier to clean; and the roll down shutters will the separate dining room and kitchen to secure the kitchen after hours such that it won’t be contaminated.
