Description | The Highway 7 Reconstruction project will rehabilitate and improve sections of the Northwest Territories Highway 7, which travels north from the border with British Columbia and connects with Highway 1. The project includes embankment reconstruction, drainage improvement, resurfacing, and chipseal work. The main purpose of the project is to rehabilitate/improve upon the existing gravel road; by doing so, it will provide efficient and safe driving conditions for the residents of all local communities of Fort Liard, Nahanni Butte, Jean Marie River and Fort Simpson, as well as for local resource development (e.g., Prairie Creek Mine) and tourists of Nahanni National Park. |
