Highway 7/8 Cycling and Pedestrian Bridge

• The project consists of the construction of a steel truss cycling and pedestrian bridge with lighting fixtures over Highway 7 and Highway 8. The project scope also includes the construction of a new sidewalk along the south side of Avalon Place and new cycling facilities (pathways) along Strasburg Road. • The project aims to improve the active transportation system by connecting adjacent residential neighborhoods to high frequency transit stops and businesses as well as to provide an active transportation link to connect difficult-to-serve neighborhoods to existing high quality transit services. • The project will result in improved capacity and quality of, and, access to, the public transit system in Waterloo, Ontario.
