Information Jal Shakti Vibhag, Government of Himachal Pradesh has come up with HIMACHAL PRADESH RURAL DRINKING WATER IMPROVEMENT AND LIVELIHOOD PROJECT with total project cost of 1062.72 INR Crores. This project in Rural Water Supply involves improvement of 186 schemes across 10 districts involving 40 constituencies. The current status of the project is under implimentation with bidding complete for all civil works and is being developed through the EPC with O&M. Economic/Social Impact of the Project A project namely 'Remodelling/Renovation of Old Rural Supply Schemes' costing 120.40 million USD was posed for funding to Department of Economic Affairs DEA, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India. As per the decision of the 84th Meeting of Screening Committee of DEA the project was posed for Financial Assistance to Asian Development Bank ADB on 80:20 basis. The ADB renamed the project as 'Himachal Pradesh Rural Drinking Water Improvement and Livelihood Project'. After inclusion of a Sanitation pilot-project for District Sirmour and components of Livelihood improvement, the final amount of project loan is assessed as 139.1 million USD, with the ADB Loan share of 96.3 million USD and GoHP share of 42.8 million USD. Loan signing done on 16th August 2022 and loan has been declared effective from 10th November 2022. The completion of project is expected by December 2027.
