Information Jal Shakti Vibhag, Government of Himachal Pradesh has come up with HIMACHAL PRADESH RURAL WATER SUPPLY PROJECT with a PROJECT cost of 745 INR Crores. This project in Water supply sector involves construction of 24 schemes across 8 districts involving 21 constituencies. The current status of the project is under execution and is being developed through the EPC with O&M. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The Himachal Pradesh Rural Water Supply Project, funded by the New Development Bank NDB, aims to provide clean and safe drinking water to rural areas across the state. The project encompasses the construction of 24 rural water supply schemes, covering over 1,255 villages and 3,154 habitations in eight districts. These schemes involve collecting water from various sources, treating it, and distributing it to households through a comprehensive network. The initiative aims to enhance the coverage of piped safe drinking water supply, benefiting more than 462,194 people upon completion. Project Components: Construction of 24 rural water supply schemes, including water treatment plant with a capacity of 49.75 million liters per day MLD.Collection of water from river sources/groundwater, lifting to overhead reservoirs, and treating the water. Distribution network with overhead tanks, service mains, and household-level distribution pipelines to provide clean drinking water as per national guidelines.
