Bhotekoshi Power Company Ltd. developed the 36MW Bothekoshi hydropower plant in Sindhupalchowk, Nepal. The project consists of 2 22MW Francis turbines. The project generates 246 GWh annually. The owners of the project are reported as: Himal International Energy Pvt. Ltd.; Himal International Power Corp Pvt. Ltd.; Tara Fund Pvt. Ltd.; RDC of Nepal, which in turn is jointly owned by MWH International, Inc (MWH) and Harza International Development Company, LLC (Harza), both from the United States. The project was commissioned in January 2001. Construction started in 1997. The PPA the project holds with NEA allows for 36MW to be exported to the grid. Under the 25 year PPA with NEA, 25% of the equity will be transfered to NEA upon completion of the contract for 1 Rupee. The PPA was signed in July 1996. Total cost was estimated at US$98 million. Financial closure date was unknown, but ESTIMATED at September 1998 based on 25% rule.
