Description

Description

The development policy objective of the project is to contribute to improving the sexual and reproductive health of the population of Sierra Leone. The FC objective is to prevent HIV/AIDS and unwanted pregnancies, gender-based violence, including female genital mutilation (PGM), and to strengthen the options for action and social position of women and girls (empowerment). The target group is the country's sexually active population, with a particular focus on women and vulnerable groups. The project consists of a social marketing component and a component to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable population groups (Impact Mitigation Fund, IMF). The IMF is characterized by the fact that community-based and non-governmental organizations are enabled to carry out projects to improve the situation on their own responsibility. This also contributes to strengthening civil society. The project sponsor is the National AIDS Secretariat (NAS), which is supported in implementation by CARE as a consultant.
