Description | A $16 million project by Ho-Chunk Nation on Milwaukee's south side to demolish the current community center and replace it with a three-story building featuring about 40 one- and two-bedroom residential units on the upper floors and cultural spaces on the ground level. The project includes cultural spaces for traditional activities, a library featuring Indigenous authors, a demonstration kitchen, and a rooftop firepit for ceremonies. The building will incorporate green technology and is designed by Milwaukee-based RINKA architectural firm. |
