Hohehot District Heating Project, Inner Mongolia

A comprehensive district heating system for up to 390,000 people is to be built in the metropolitan area of Hohehot City, the capital of the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia. The proposed subsidy loan will be used to expand the existing system in two districts (around 14,700,000 m2). As part of the project, two new heating plants will be equipped with new boilers, each with an output of 70 MW. The new district heating system will replace inefficient decentralized boiler systems in a densely populated area and will supply the constantly growing residential areas with heat. The expansion of the district heating system will significantly reduce pollutant emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, dust and carbon dioxide in the project area.
