Description
Description | The government, through the Ministry of Works and Transport, has earmarked funds to tarmac 34km of roads leading to Hoima City Stadium. The roads pass through private land, but the project has no compensation component. The project includes upgrading several potholed murram roads within Hoima city and a road stretching from Kampala Road to Hoima Fort Road in Kikuube district. MBW Consulting Ltd has been contracted to conduct feasibility studies and design the project, which is expected to cost over 100 billion Ugandan shillings. The project started on April 23, 2026, with engagement meetings involving project-affected landlords. The contractor has been secured and civil works will begin immediately after the completion of studies and designs. Landlords are urged to offer their land freely as there is no compensation component. |
