Description | The 20,000-seater Hoima City Stadium in the Bunyoro sub-region is a $130 million sports facility aimed at strengthening Uganda's sports infrastructure for hosting regional, continental, and international events. The project includes a main stadium, mini arena, semi-Olympic swimming pool, outdoor pitch, running tracks, basketball and volleyball courts, parking spaces, VIP suites, a presidential suite, elevators, sanitary units, facilities for persons with disabilities, dressing rooms, a press conference facility, and concession and retail units. Construction started on September 1, 2024, by MS Summa, a Turkish engineering and construction firm, under the supervision of the Ministry of Works. |
