Description | The Hoima City Stadium in Uganda is a flagship government project under construction for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The stadium is over 85% complete, with two stand tiers finished and seating installed. It will host 20,000 fans and includes VIP and VVIP seating areas, lounges, kitchen facilities, and safety guardrails. The pitch is being prepared with natural grass and meets CAF regulations. Roofing and floodlights are installed, and the stadium's walling reflects Uganda's national colors. The project also includes a 2,000-seater indoor arena, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, outdoor courts, and a training ground. Construction began in September 2024 and is expected to complete by 31 December 2025. The project is funded by Uganda's Petroleum Fund and constructed by Turkish firm Summa Construction. |
