Description | Santa Rosa County is undertaking repair work at the Holley Landfill, which operated on leased Air Force land from 1979 until its closure in 1992. The project aims to bring the closed landfill into compliance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) regulations by addressing issues such as ponding of stormwater, erosion, raising the landfill to required elevation, repairing groundwater recovery wells, and installing additional features. The project has been delayed due to slow processing of paperwork by Eglin Air Force Base, which owns the land. |
