Description | Patients with blood cancer have to present themselves frequently at the clinic to have blood tests taken. The frequent trips to the hospital are a heavy burden for the patients and their relatives. HomeHemo will investigate the possibilities for a Danish-German collaboration in developing a whole new method for patients to do blood tests themselves. Our hope is, that these patients in the future will be able to do their blood tests from home. This way, it will be possible to determine with more precision than today, if a patient needs to show up at the clinic or not. This would spare them unnecessary trips to the hospital and give a higher quality of life – as well as contribute to a more efficient use of the resources at the hospitals. This Danish-German network project will create results and a collaboration, which future cancer research and innovation projects can build on. |
