Description | Construction has reached a milestone with the commencement of vertical construction at the former Homer City Generation site. The first structure being built is the Gas Insulated Switchgear building, a steel-framed facility housing high-voltage electrical equipment connecting the campus to the PJM grid. The redevelopment will result in a 4.5 gigawatt natural gas-fired power plant expected to double the power output of the former coal-fired facility and provide power to 13 states and Washington D.C. |
