However, the project was suspended for two years in 2025 due to slowing demand for EVs, U.S. import taxes, and changes to U.S. policies making emissions-free cars less affordable. As of May 2026, Honda is reported to be making the suspension indefinite, with the possibility of scrapping the project altogether. |
