Hope - Othello Road - Roadway Integrity and Safety Improvements - Phase 1

The project will improve access to the City of Hope by completing improvements to Othello Road. The improvements will re-establish the two-lane traffic from single-lane traffic. The project will address the ongoing safety concerns. The road is used as an emergency bypass route for Highway 5 and 3 if a major accident occurs and a highway is closed. The project works will include: - removal and replacement of loose and surplus soil and rock material; - on-site cut to fill dense soils and bedrock material; - asphalt paving; - grading and cross slope; - drainage, markings and signage; - realignment of overhead hydro lines; - roadway lighting; - culverts, ditches and stormwater systems; and, - other related works.
