Description

Description

The Project consists of the construction of a new facility in Harbourside Commercial Park for the Horizon Achievement Centre, a not-for-profit organization specializing in vocational training and employment services for adults with mental disabilities or those who face employment barriers. The Project works include all design, engineering, excavation, backfilling, and construction needed to create a new, approximately 20,600 sq/ft building for the Horizon Achievement Centre. Currently, the Horizon Achievement Centre provides vocational and employment services to 135 full-time and part-time patrons with an additional 100 on a waitlist for service. The existing facility was leased from another community group and poorly meets the needs of this growing organization in terms of accessibility, space, and overall condition. The Project will allow the organization to expand the number of patrons receiving these essential services, which will result in a 42% increase in overall visitation. The Project aims to build a stronger community that will foster a culture of acceptance, inclusion, and belonging.
