Horus Solar II Power Plant

In August 2014, the Guatemalan company Grupo Onyx was awarded the contract to build and operate the Horus Solar II solar power plant, located at Santa Rosa Department (30 MW in capacity). The sponsor signed a 15-year power purchase agreement with state power company EEGSA and created the special purpose company Anacapri S.A. to lead the project. This was the second project awarded to Anacapri S.A., which was granted a license to build and operate the Horus Solar Power plant in 2010 (ID# 8189) The investment on the Horus Solar II was estimated at US$ 60 million. The EPC contract was signed with the Spanish company Grupo Ortiz. Construction works commenced in early 2015, and commercial operations began in July 2015.
