Description
Description | Tamil Nadu is planning to build an international airport on more than 2,300 acres at Shoolagiri, east of Hosur city, capable of handling up to three crore passengers a year. The project may involve a private developer. The state has funded land acquisition and is selecting a consultant to prepare a detailed techno-economic report. However, the project faces challenges due to a 150-km restriction clause in the concession agreement with Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), which bars development of any new or existing airport within 150 km of Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru until 2033. |
