Description | Cliffs Natural Resources is planning to construct a hot briquette iron processing facility on a 100-acre site in the Ironville section of East Toledo. The plant will receive 2 million tons of iron ore mined in Minnesota and Michigan per year and convert it into briquettes, to be shipped by rail and trucked to mills in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. The plant will be designed by Midrex Technologies Inc. The project also includes improvements to the Ironville intermodal facility for material storage and processing, including a rail connection and raw material conveyor over Front Street. |
