House of Love is a 5-bedroom, 4-bath home located on a hillside in Cheviot Hills, Los Angeles. Designed by RIOS partner Bob Hale as his family's own home, it features interlocking volumes structured around light and sectional movement, with open living areas extending to the garden. The upper level is wrapped in perforated aluminum panels etched with the word 'ahava' (love), serving as brise-soleil, privacy screen, and conceptual armature. The home includes a Poggenpohl kitchen, a primary suite with garden outlooks, and a lower level with separate access for guest rooms or studio space. The landscape includes native meadow planting, a lap pool, and spa, emphasizing enclosure and openness.
