Description
Description | The aim of the project is to introduce and share experiences of the operation of open governance practices of European municipalities, the involvement of active citizens (including the active participation of the elderly and young people in local politics), transparent and corruption-free decision-making. With our project, we want to promote awareness of people with different cultural backgrounds and their contribution to the development of European culture. One of the project goals is the creation of tools and principles of EU municipalities operation necessary for Ternopil and the whole of Ukraine under the guidance of experts. The recommendations of EU member experts will be important for other candidate countries in the future. At the same time, we want to learn from Ternopil's experience how the municipality functions in the conditions of crisis and war, how to ensure the protection of citizens, social assistance, education and the experience of implementing an emergency plan. Ternopil's experience is important for all municipalities of the European Union. During the project there will be held two meetings - one in Ternopil (Ukraine) and the second one in Estonia (Viljandi). The topics of the first meeting are: citizen protection, security and crisis management plan. The purpose of the meeting is to learn from Ternopil how the municipality is functioning in war conditions and to observe important objects for the construction of civil defense and the renovation of existing facilities to ensure protection, requirements for buildings, residential buildings and public buildings in case of a possible attack, etc. The topics of the second meeting are: How to create a stronger and more inclusive community that takes into account the needs of different age groups; local government management and challenges in the European Union. |
