Howard Frankland Bridge Expansion Project

near completion

The project involves expanding the Howard Frankland Bridge by adding two express lanes in both directions and constructing a nearly seven-mile shared-use pedestrian and cyclist path. The expansion aims to relieve traffic congestion and improve connectivity around the Bay Area. The new southbound bridge has already opened, and the old southbound bridge was demolished. The express lanes and shared-use path are set to open this week, with the express lanes initially toll-free before a fixed toll of 50 cents is implemented.
