Description

Description	Hubei WuAn Peak Heat and Power Company Ltd was established in October 2000. This coal-fired, 24MW (2x6MW & 1x12MW), combined heat and power plant was sponsored by Peak Pacific Investment Company, a development company of which Alliant Energy International had a 93.5% stake, (90%) and Hebei WuAn City West Stone Coal Heat and Power Plant (10%). The contract term was for 20 years. Power was to be sold to the provincial grid and steam heat was to be sold to space heating customers. Investment date was October 2000. Total cost was approximately US$10 million (RMB 84m). As of August 2001, Alliant's investments in China amounted to a total of 500MW spread across 9 projects. Total investments in these projects were approximately $150 million. Most of these investments were made through Peak Pacific Investment Company.
