Description | The Hudson River Tunnel Project, known as Gateway, is a major infrastructure project to construct a new rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River connecting New York City and New Jersey. The project has been delayed due to the Trump administration freezing more than $16 billion in funding. A federal judge has ruled that the administration must unfreeze the funds by Thursday unless a federal appeals court allows the government to continue withholding the money. The project commission warned that work will have to shut down and about 1,000 workers will be laid off if the funding is not released. |
