Description

Description

The FC measure Human Rights/Combating Child Labour and Child Trafficking (Children's Fund) is still part of the scope for action on sexual health and promoting human rights in Burkina Faso in its Phase VI. The project goal is to strengthen the legal, institutional, economic and social framework conditions for promoting and protecting children's rights. The development policy goal is to improve access to basic services for vulnerable children, young people and their families. The target group of the measure is, in the narrower sense, the rural young population and their family environment in the priority regions of development cooperation in Burkina Faso (east, southwest and parts of the central east as well as the area around Ouagadougo) and, in the broader sense, the general Burkinabe public. As part of the FC measure, specific individual activities to improve the social and economic situation of children and young people are planned in the priority regions under the coordination of the municipalities. During this phase, in addition to school scholarships and meals, the fund will increasingly support vocational training and business start-up measures for young people up to the age of 25, and will also promote other, previously unsupported training branches with good job prospects in the Burkinabe context. The construction and equipment of social infrastructure will continue to make up a significant part of the Children's Fund's investments, although in future even more infrastructure with a direct link to disadvantaged children and young people (e.g. training and leisure centers, centers for the reintegration of delinquent minors, reception centers for street children) will be financed. The FC measure is to be implemented in close cooperation with the Children's Rights, Protection from Child Trafficking and the Worst Forms of Child Labor component of the TC measure Programme Santé Sexual/Droits Humains (PRO-Enfants). The FC measure is supported by the professionally functioning implementation structure Fonds Enfants et Jeunes, which is based at Ecobank. The total cost of the measure, which is planned for three years, is estimated at EUR 6.48 million. The FC contribution amounts to EUR 6.0 million, and Burkinabe's own contribution is estimated at EUR 0.48 million.
