Description

Description

The FC measure Human Rights/Combating Child Labour and Child Trafficking (Children's Fund) is in its fourth phase still part of the scope for action on sexual health and promoting human rights in Burkina Faso. The aim of the FC measure is to strengthen the legal, institutional, economic and social framework conditions for promoting and protecting children's rights. The development policy goal should be to improve access to basic services for children, young people and their families. The target group of the measure is, in the narrower sense, the young rural population and their family environment in the priority regions of German development cooperation in Burkina Faso (east, southwest and parts of the central east) and, in the broader sense, the general Burkinabe public. As part of the FC measure, specific individual activities to improve the social and economic situation of children and young people, e.g. through the establishment of social infrastructure, are planned in the priority regions under the coordination of the municipalities. Furthermore, at the national level, support is to be given to educating the population about the worst forms of child labour and improving the framework conditions for protecting children's rights. The FC measure was carried out in close cooperation with the third component of children's rights, protection from child trafficking and the worst forms of child labour of the TC measure Programme Santé Sexual/Droits Humains (PROSAD) (BMZ No. 2011 20 484) and the follow-up measure PRO Enfant (2014.2013.2). The FC measure was sponsored by ECOBANK Burkina Faso. The total cost of the measure, which was carried out over 5.5 years, is EUR 8.55 million. The FC contribution amounts to EUR 8.0 million, and Burkina Faso's own contribution to EUR 0.55 million.
