The FC measure Human Rights/Combating Child Labour and Child Trafficking (Children's Fund) is still part of the scope for action on sexual health and promoting human rights in Burkina Faso in its Phase V. The aim of the FC measure is to strengthen the legal, institutional, socio-economic and cultural framework conditions for promoting and protecting children's rights. The development policy objective is to contribute to consolidating human capital and strengthening social services. The target group of the measure is, in the narrower sense, the young rural population and their family environment in the priority regions of German development cooperation in Burkina Faso and, in the broader sense, the general Burkinabe public. As part of the FC measure, specific individual activities to improve the social and economic situation of children and young people are planned in the priority regions under the coordination of the municipalities, e.g. through the establishment of social infrastructure, school meals and training scholarships. Furthermore, the aim is to support the education of the population about children's rights and the improvement of the framework conditions for the protection of children's rights at the local and national level. The sponsor of the FC measure is Ecobank Burkina Faso with the implementation structure Children's Fund. The project works together with the TC project PRO Enfant (2014.2013.2). The total costs are around EUR 2.1 million, of which EUR 2.0 million comes from FC funds and a Burkinabe own contribution of around EUR 0.1 million.
