Description
Description | The Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) asks teachers and school leaders about working conditions and learning environments at their schools to help countries face diverse challenges. The TALIS study provides insights into teachers’ beliefs and attitudes about teaching and their pedagogical practices. It explores different themes in participating countries: professional development, school leadership, teaching practices, school climate, appraisal and feedback, job satisfaction and teacher profiles. It also assesses the degree to which teachers’ professional development needs are being met. The last cycle introduced new sets of questions on innovation in education, as well as on equity and diversity. Recognising the important role that school leadership plays in fostering an effective teaching and learning environment, TALIS also describes the role of school leaders and examines the support that they give to their teachers. Finally, TALIS examines the extent to which various factors are related to teachers’ feelings of job satisfaction and self-efficacy. Hungary took part in TALIS in the 2008 and 2018 surveys and intends to take part in the next cycle scheduled in 2024. TALIS outcomes valuable insight into the effects and challenges of recent and ongoing educational policy reforms in Hungary, highlighting solutions and contributing to policy efforts to provide quality education for all and to improving training and conditions for teachers in the country. The project aims to cover the participation fees for the 2022-2025 cycle of TALIS for Hungary. |
