The project aims to produce approximately 4,700 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually, reducing Orica's natural gas use by 7.5%. The project received AU$432 million in government support through Hydrogen Headstart, paid over 10 years as a production credit to bridge the cost gap between renewable hydrogen and current market prices. Construction is planned to start in 2026 with first production targeted for early 2029. |
