The project involves the construction of the Zhejiang section of Huping-Yancheng Intercity Railway, connecting the cities of Pinghu and Haiyan in Zhejiang province of China. The section passes through Jiaxing Port Area and Pinghu City, and ends in Haiyan County. The design speed is 160 kilometers per hour and the construction period is 48 months. The total length of the section is 41.6km and includes 1.9km underground section and 39.7km elevated and ground sections. The project is procured under a PPP model through a project company called Zhejiang Huping-Yan Railway Co., Ltd. The SPV is jointly owned by a consortium of the Zhejiang Provincial Communications Group and the Zhejiang Provincial Rail Construction Group, which signed the PPP contract and project investment agreement in July 2022.
