HVDC Kudus - Aarey transmission line

This project involves construction of a 80km-long, 1,000MW underground high-voltage main transmission line between Aarey in Goregaon and Kudus in the Wada taluka of Thane, India, in order to augment the city's power supply capacity. Adani Group is sponsor of the project and its subsidiary Adani Electricity Mumbai Infra Ltd (AEMIL) was granted a license by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) to develop the project under a 25-year build-own-operate (BOO) model. Total investment stands at $900.83 million. The state government accorded statutory approval to start construction for the project through a government resolution dated 11 May 2022.
