This project involves construction of a 80km-long, 1,000MW underground high-voltage main transmission line between Aarey in Goregaon and Kudus in the Wada taluka of Thane, India, in order to augment the city's power supply capacity. Adani Group is sponsor of the project and its subsidiary Adani Electricity Mumbai Infra Ltd (AEMIL) was granted a license by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) to develop the project under a 25-year build-own-operate (BOO) model. Total investment stands at $1 billion, of which a $700 million credit facility is provided by a consortium of banks, including DBS Bank Ltd., Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A., Mizuho Bank Ltd., MUFG Bank Ltd., Siemens Bank GmbH, Société Générale, Standard Chartered Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited.
