Description | The Sixth Highway Project's main objectives are to: (i) help continue and consolidate the country-wide bridge, road and ferry rehabilitation and maintenance programs; and (ii) strengthen the administration and training capabilities of Office des Routes (OR), the public agency in charge of the main road network. To this end, the project would support key components of OR's 1986-88 comprehensive highway program and would iclude: (i) routine and periodic maintenance of the main roads (including ferry operations) through the provision of equipment, spare parts, materials and supplies; (ii) bridge repair and maintenance; (iii) construction of access ramps for ferries; (iv) strengthening OR's management through technical assistance, consulting services and office equipment; and (v) training. |
