Description | The Telangana Legislative Assembly approved a resolution for the acquisition of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase I network from L&T by the state government. The takeover aims to facilitate the expansion of the Metro network across Hyderabad. The current Phase I network spans 69 kilometers, with proposals for Phase II expansions covering 76.4 kilometers (Phase II A) and 86.1 kilometers (Phase II B) submitted to the central government. The government plans to take over operations from March 31, 2026, and seeks cooperation from the central government for the expansion. |
