It combines a 216 MW solar photovoltaic plant with a 500 MWh battery storage system, generating over 400 GWh annually, enough to supply approximately 200,000 South African households. The facility supplies 75 MW of dispatchable renewable electricity daily to the national grid under a 20-year power purchase agreement with Eskom, enabling energy supply beyond daylight hours by shifting stored solar energy to peak demand times. |
