Description

Description

Utah Magnum Development and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) are planning to construct a hydrogen and natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in Millard. The Advanced Clean Energy Storage project scope includes design and construction of building space and equipment foundations, installation of combustion and steam turbines and generators, and purchase and installation of an evaporative cooling tower. The plant will have the capacity to generate 600 MW of electric power and will use renewable hydrogen, compressed air energy, large-scale flow batteries and solid oxide fuel cell technologies for bulk energy storage. MHPS will provide gas turbine technology and equipment. The companies expect to select a firm to provide EPC services in mid-to-late 2020.
