Description

Description

NTPC Ltd has announced a three-year pilot project to launch four air-conditioned, 45-seater hydrogen electric buses in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region. The project aims to demonstrate the viability of fuel-cell electric buses on routes such as the Delhi-Agra intercity corridor and the Noida Airport link. Hydrogen will be produced, compressed, and supplied at NTPC's Greater Noida plant. NTPC will manage fuel production, maintenance, and staff training, while YEIDA will handle daily operations, route planning, permits, and fare collection. Each bus is expected to cover around 600 km per refill, initially connecting YEIDA with Noida and Greater Noida, and later linking to Noida International Airport. The project supports India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and could pave the way for zero-emission public transport across NCR and beyond.
