Description | Singapore's Energy Market Authority has launched a request for proposals to build up to three hydrogen-ready combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plants. One unit is expected to be operational in 2031, with up to two more in 2032. Each unit will have a capacity of at least 600MW, adding up to 1.8GW of new capacity to meet growing electricity demand and maintain system reliability. These plants will be built, owned, and operated by private-sector companies and designed to accommodate hydrogen blending or future conversion to hydrogen fuel. |
