Description
Description | Hydrogen Valleys are emerging in European countries to delay climate change and promote hydrogen's potential in energy transition. These valleys enrich local energy production ecosystems, fostering innovation and attracting local investments. This trend leads to economic growth and hydrogen technology advancement. The workforce's skills and education are crucial for the success of Hydrogen Valleys. Educational institutions are offering hydrogen-oriented courses, trainings, and seminars to upskill and reskill the workforce. Hydrogen valleys are interconnected with local skills ecosystems, developing a symbiotic relationship that can accelerate technology advancement and workforce growth. Local Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) play a pivotal role in bridging the skills gap by providing targeted development programs in collaboration with industry partners and educational institutions. A new hub of CoVEs will be established to promote collaborative learning and sharing of best practices among Hydrogen Valley regions. This synergistic approach aims to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes, such as accelerated knowledge exchange and enhanced workforce skills, with a parallel focus on secondary level students. The initiative will create a robust network linking secondary level education, vocational education, higher education, and lifelong learning, providing individuals access to hydrogen-related skills and knowledge throughout their academic and professional pursuits. |
