This project, along with 0012757, are part of the Major Mobility Investment Program (MMIP) and they will be lumped together in one Design-Build contract to be Let together. The I-16 @ I-95 interchange improvements will include reconstruction of two of the high-volume loop ramps: I-95 southbound to I-16 eastbound and I-16 westbound to I-95 southbound. The project will convert the loop ramps to directional flyover ramps. Two lower-volume loop ramps serving I-95 northbound to I-16 westbound and I-16 eastbound to I-95 northbound will remain as loop ramps. A new I-95 northbound collector-distributor lane will be constructed to separate weaving between the remaining loop ramps from the I-95 mainline. Request for Proposals (RFP) will be advertised January 2018.
