The project includes constructing 6.5 miles of 22-ft diameter drainage tunnels and a pump station to improve stormwater management along the corridor between Airport Boulevard and Holly Street, and along Cesar Chavez Street from I-35 to U.S. 183. The project is divided into four phases involving utility relocation, excavation of drop shafts, launching tunnel boring machines, and installing final tunnel lining.
